Harmony Art Gallery and Studio grand opening Wednesday

Harmony GalleryStudio

The people Smiths Falls love to harbour and support small businesses starting from the ground up. We welcomed Sweet Scoops with open arms, got our butts kicked (in a good way) with Zendragon, filled the room to capacity at Matty O’Shea’s, and the list could go on.

Now, another small business will be having its official grand opening on Wednesday, May 21. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 5 p.m.

The event will be held at the gallery’s location of 24 Russell St. E. in Smiths Falls. 10% of all proceeds made that evening will go toward the Susan Shirley Program of Smiths Falls.

The business’ website paints a wonderful picture of who the owners are:

“Nestled in historic Smiths Falls, Ontario.  The Harmony Gallery and Studio strives to bring the pleasure of art, great and small, and in its many forms, to this beautiful town.  Founded in 2013 by Philip and Betty Compton, this gallery represents a lifetime of artistic passion.
An artist herself, Betty has grown up painting and sketching people, animals, and landscapes.  She has created commissioned pieces as well as artwork for herself.  Opening the gallery and studio is an extension of the personal joy she gets from art by sharing her love with others.  She has been allowed the pleasure of portraying God’s creation for all to enjoy with her.
The gallery will represent local artists as well as old master and contemporary master artists.  Available for purchase and your enjoyment will be original pieces and select limited edition prints.
Come visit us and see the treasures inside!”

Hope to see you there!
