Peter Knight (played by Jamie Benda) is grinding out a murder story in an old mansion where another author was murdered years before. A weird electrical storm triggers a cosmic snafu and his characters come to life… just as director Katharine Coleman has worked hard to bring the characters of her cast to life in rehearsals. 3rd Annual Zombie Walk

4:00pm – 5:00pm
Join us on our third stagger and stumble through town as the undead gather in support of our local food bank. We will be meeting up at Kinsmen Park. Between Town Hall and the Smiths Falls Library starting at 4pm for registration and food /monetary donation collection. We will head down Beckwith Street as a group then lurch over to Chambers Street ending at Smiths Falls Gym and Fitness Centre for treats and prizes! Coach Brian and his staff will be handing out hot chocolate and cookies donated by C’est Tout Bakery. We will be lead as a group and we will be travelling along the sidewalks. Please respect all traffic laws. **We have many prize ribbons to give out for both adults and children. A food item or cash donation must be presented at registration to participate in the judged contest. Come out as your goriest, deadliest, funniest, and more original zombie and enter our contest for a stab at a prize! 1 food or cash donation required per person for entry. Rain or shine. All ages. Remember to bring nonperishable food items or cash donations for our local living community.

Local Foods Harvest Dinner

6:00pm – 9:00pm
This will be REAL’s sixth annual feast of foods produced close to home in Lanark, Leeds and Grenville. This year’s chef will be Amy Rensby of Magnolia Catering, who will be cooking up the buffet dinner in the Two Rivers Food Hub kitchens. The buffet will be served in the Gallipeau Centre “Ballroom”. Enjoy some great entertainment before and after dinner by the band “The British Invasion”. You will also have a chance to bid on some great items in a silent auction, have an optional tour of the Two Rivers facility, meet some of the local producers and mingle with REAL folk! Tickets are $60, which includes a $20 charitable receipt. Purchase your ticket before September 18 and get $5 off the ticket price. Why not put together a table of friends and make a night of it? The bar will feature local beers and Ontario wines. Tickets will be available by August 18 at the REAL Deal Store and at Modern Thymes on Russell Street.

Dinner at 7 PM Dance to follow with Music for Everyone. Cash bar on site. Cost is $10.00 at the door. Casual dress no jeans. You don’t have to be a dancer to attend these events just tap your toes, clap your hands and socialize with other singles. Starting the fall off with a bang. Nice to meet new people and old friends from your area and others. Meeting people with interests similar to yours. A very relaxed atmosphere to enjoy yourself.

Sole Sisters – 4th Annual Charity Event

The Sole Sisters Run is donating all proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society, in the name of cancer research. This event is open to everyone, young or old, male or female must register. Sole Sisters will send each interested donor a report detailing the number of registrants, how many people donated, how much money was We are happy to accept donations at any time, however, please be advised that we will not be issuing charitable donation receipts at this time. We are holding a 2km, a 5 km and a 10 km run/walk. Runs/walks start at 0800, with the 10 km starting first, followed shortly there after by the 5 km, and followed shortly thereafter by the 2 km. All distances start and end at Lower Reach Park in Smiths Falls, Ontario. There will be water and bananas available at the start/finish line. There will also be a water table at about every 3 km of both the 5k route and the 10k route.
