Climb inside one of our many cabooses, hop in a boxcar, roar ahead in our Diesel Locomotive or ‘cool down’ in our snowplow. All activities are included with admission!
Take a break from all the activities and purchase a delicious lunch from our BBQ, open 11am until 2pm.

(Each day from 10 am to noon we will have a pre-purchased ticket table set-up outside so you can avoid the line up!)

Children (4 to 13): $5.00
Children (3 and under): Free
Parking
We have limited parking space available at the museum, but, thanks to our neighbours, we have overflow parking located at Cornelia Court. A shuttle bus will be running throughout the day to take you between the museum and Cornelia Court.

Wooden Whistle Making – Join museum staff in the Kid’s Tent & decorate your own wooden whistle. Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 12pm.
Tree-making workshop – Join Noel White, owner of Monolith Architectural Models, and learn how to create the perfect tree for your model railway set at home! Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 2 pm.

This year we have many train-themed activities as well as entertainment at a bouncy castle!
On-going
Engine rides – We’re firing up our first generation diesel engine to take you on a ride down the tracks in three of our cabooses on our extended track! Rides are running from 11 am to 3 pm.
Telegraph Demonstrations – Join our special guests, retired telegraphers, for live demos. Send your own message from Nolan’s to the Operator’s Bay. Sunday only, 10:30 – 11:30 & 1:30 – 2:30.
Our telegrapher, Graeme, will be in both days to show visitors how the telegraph works.
Horse-drawn wagon tours – After you have seen everything at the museum, hop on our horse-drawn wagon for a free guided tour of our town’s rich industrial past. Sunday only. Departs at the Church St. gate at 11 am, 12:30 pm and 2 pm.

MONTAGUE RURAL RAMBLE

BBQ, Demo Derby, Ambush
The Montague Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting its 12th annual Montague Rural Ramble, in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada, on August 27, 2016. The firefighters extend an invitation to you, your family and friends to attend this community festival, which will begin at 4:00 p.m., rain or shine, at the Township Municipal grounds, 6547 Roger Stevens Drive.
This year’s event will include a demolition derby, lots of raffle prizes, a charity BBQ with refreshments, a beer garden and lots of activities for children. The day will wrap-up with an evening concert by AMBUSH who take to the stage at 7 p.m.
The admission charge to the grounds, ($15 in advance, $20 at the door), includes admittance to the demolition derby and evening concert. Children under 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Township Office or from any Montague firefighter.
