Turkey and Train Rides this Thanksgiving

11:00am – 3:00pm
What goes better with turkey than train rides? The Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario is serving up a Thanksgiving weekend like no other! Bring your friends and your out-of-town relatives for a special Thanksgiving train ride
Rides will take place Saturday October 8th and Sunday October 9th from 11 am to 3 pm. Climb aboard a 1940s caboose to discover what it’s like to be pulled by a first-generation diesel engine. A return trip down the track is $5 for 7 years or older, $3 for children 3-6 years & 2 and under ride free!
The museum will be open 10 am to 5 pm each day and admission to the museum is free Saturday and Sunday. The museum will be open Monday October 10th and will close for the season Tuesday October 11th.
This will also be your last chance this season to view our new exhibit: Lost Stations of Eastern Ontario.
This exciting exhibition details the fated history of the railways and their stations in Eastern Ontario as well as the important role that these stations played in the surrounding communities. Like many communities along the line, the railway was an integral part of life. Today much of what remains of the fated railway lines are of the lonely stations peeking out the overgrown rural countryside.
We invite you to come out to the museum on Thanksgiving weekend for some family fun!
