Opulence and extravagance await you on The Orient Express

Lose yourself in the decadence of the 1920s and join the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario for an evening of sumptuous food and drink at its first annual fundraising dinner, taking place on the evening of Mar. 28.

Transport yourself back in time at The Ivy on William, surrounded by windows of stained glass, luxurious linens, and décor reminiscent of the turn of the 20th century. Guests are encouraged to don their best apparel and get glamorous for the swankiest event of the year.

The evening boasts a complementary signature cocktail hour starting at 6 p.m., followed by an eight-course menu of mouth-watering tasting plates featuring flavours of the famous train’s route, such as Paris, Venice, London, and Istanbul. Throughout the event, there will also be a silent auction with an offering of unique and unexpected experiences to go to the highest bidder!

Tickets are $65 each and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available on the museum’s website or at The Main Street Bistro, 5 Main St. West. For more information contact the museum at 613-283-5696 or go to www.rmeo.org. Check back often for more details in the coming weeks.

Planes, trains & automobiles at Railway Museum’s March Break Camp

This year the Railway Museum and The Ivy on William are partnering together for an exciting week of transportation-themed games, crafts, experiments and other activities featuring food, fitness & history!

Who doesn’t love trains, planes, and automobiles? If your child is between the ages of 4-7 or 8-12, make sure to sign them up for this fun-filled full-day camp, running Mar. 16 to 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., complete with flexible drop-off and pick-up times!

Each day has its very own transportation theme. Pick your favourite or pick them all!

> Monday: By Land! – Discover some very cool vehicles used on construction sites, including bulldozers and excavators, then build your very own 3-dimenionsal city!

> Tuesday: By Rail! – Explore engines, cabooses, and other cool train cars at the Railway Museum. Meet some railway workers and learn the tricks of the trade!

> Wednesday: By Air! – Meet a local airplane pilot who will share his real-life flying stories and then make your very own plane to take home!

> Thursday: By Water! – Unearth the history behind the Rideau Canal, and then test out your very own boat to see if it will float!

> Friday: On Four Legs! – Learn all about how animals around the world help with transportation by dressing up and creating characters, making your own animal sculpture, and meeting one of our special visitors!

Sign up per day or for the whole week!

Camp is $30/day or $135 for the entire week! Snacks and lunches are included in pricing.
