FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

Welcome Home Henderson Sisters

11:00am – 2:00pm
Wear red and white and join the Town of Smiths Falls in a celebration on Friday September 9th, to welcome their hometown golf pro Brooke Henderson back from the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janiero and to acknowledge the hard work and achievements of pro golf sisters Brooke and Brittany Henderson. The red and white themed celebrations will take place at Centennial Park, located on Confederation Drive Smiths Falls.
Mayor Shawn Pankow along with Town staff, welcomes everyone to join in the festivities. The celebration will get under way at 11:00 am with a live entertainment performance, and is scheduled to conclude at 2:00 pm.
In the event of heavy rain prior to or during the actual celebration ceremony, festivities will be moved to the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre.

Downtown Farmers’ Market

9:00am – 2:00pm
Come out to enjoy the Downtown Smiths Falls Farmers’ Market an get some local fresh produce! See you on Russell Street West!

See the museum change with the seasons, with special harvest demonstrations. Call for details. Open daily 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

All Ways Moving Presents Family Fun Day

Healey Transportation will be providing a FREE shuttle service to & from the Gallipeau Centre throughout the day!
Pickups will be provided at the following locations starting at 10:30 a.m.

Giant Tiger
Parkland Court
Please allow for a 10-minute interval between each location. The shuttle will begin at Andress’ Your Independent Grocer and loop to the locations listed above at approximately 10:30 am, 12:30 pm & 2:30 pm.

Montague Fire Department Annual Pit Barbeque

The Montague Volunteer Fire Department is once again hosting its famous Pit Barbeque. This has been a major fundraiser for our department for several decades. Tickets will be on sale in advance at the Montague Township Office or from any Montague Volunteer Firefighter. Tickets will also be available at the door. Tickets $20. Eight and under free.

Friday Bridge Club

THE FRIDAY AFTERNOON BRIDGE CLUB meets in the Edna Green Room at McMartin House every Friday afternoon, officially starting at 12:30 P.M., to play social Bridge in a comfortable and friendly setting. In fact, many members like to get there an hour or two early and play Bridge with friends prior to the formal four hand bridge game competitions that start at 12:30.  There are five rounds of four-hand Bridge, with scores recorded for each individual and their partners at each table. The winners at each table rotate to the next table.  There are small prizes for the persons with the highest individual score, the second highest, and the lowest. Prizes are also awarded for the overall winner for the year.

6:00pm – 6:30pm
Scotch Tasting Event with special performance by the Harp Twins! Very limited seating – there are still some tickets available here: http://www.ticketsplease.ca/Kilt.html
This event is an intimate setting, for a limited number of people. There will be three rounds of scotch tasting, with two food breaks. We will be performing 6:00pm – 6:30pm. This is the only paid admission event – with advance tickets available from: http://www.ticketsplease.ca/Kilt.html
We have a FREE 1-hour show on Saturday as part of their music festival – so that would be the perfect time to bring friends and family!

Perth Through the Ages Theatrical Historic Walking Tour

Our theatrical historic walking tour for all ages celebrates Perth’s past as our heritage town celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2016. This year’s “play that moves” will focus on the Indigenous/Settler relationship at the time of the founding of the Perth military settlement.

Vendors are set-up between 8:00am – 1:00pm
Takes place every Saturday morning between May 7th and October 8th, 2016, in the Tay Basin Parking Lot and around the Crystal Palace. Offers fresh, local, organic in-season produce, plants, preserves, meat, home baking, and tons of other goodies. The Market also offers artisans and crafts, jewellry, entertainment occasionally and chance to have breakfast at the Piggin’ Out Market Cafe. This is a great way to spend a Saturday morning, getting to know your local producers in the heart of downtown Perth!
